Creative Writing, Collaboration And More
The Statement of Inquiry we were working with in this unit was the following: “Creativity is a reflection of the self: through the creative process we learn about ourselves and others” I agree with this statement completely. I think when your read someone else’s writing you learn a lot about that person and their past. Not only through the topic they are writing about but also the emotions and the style of writing portrayed in the story says a lot about the author and his or her personality. When creating something creative yourself I think you also learn about yourself and your own emotions since when you write you put your experience and also your thoughts into that story without realizing it at first but when you reread it you will notice that you did.
When asked what the link between fact and fiction is, I would say that the link is that there is always a bit of the truth, of the facts, in fiction no matter what it is. Some might say that fiction is completely made up and isn’t based on truths but I think that that isn’t true because you somehow have to come up with those ideas. Often when you come up with those ideas you include a small part of the truth which relates to what I already said above. Another question that I got asked was if art creates more art. I think it does because sometimes art really inspires you to create a piece of art yourself which could then inspire someone else to create one as well and so on. So yes I think it does. When looking at the nine types of collaborators I think I would either be the Taskmaster or the Socialite. I think when collaborating I am very often the one who is delegating the tasks, who makes sure that the document or the presentation looks nice and the one who makes sure that everyone did their work which would make me the Taskmaster but I also always communicate with my group a lot and share all of my ideas. This would make me the Socialite. I think I am something mixed in between those two. Do you have anything you would like to say about that first statement or the questions?
