'A picture is worth a thousand words'

‘A picture is worth a thousand words’In our English class we were asked if we agree with the statement above and I personally agree with it because I think that a picture can sometimes even say more than a thousand words even though it doesn’t include actual words. Some pictures express far more emotions than texts can because everybody has a different opinion and interpretation of it. When looking at a picture you see so many different things that could possibly mean different things which you could write about and which could then lead up to a text being more than a thousand words which shows that a picture is worth a thousand words. The visual note-taking task we did in class also proved that point. The sketches we drew expressed exactly what we read in ‘Through the Tunnel’ which was a short story but one that still included far more than just a thousand words and we expressed and showed exactly what was said or what we interpreted from reading the story just by drawing little sketches. You see the exact same thing happening when you look at some really famous paintings for example ‘The persistence of memory’ by Salvador Dali. This painting includes so many questions, emotions and a message that could only be explained with far more than a thousand words. This for me makes it very clear that this statement is true and I definitely agree with it. What do you think?
